I was shocked when some of them didn't know the correct name and how to play the following:woodblock, triangle, guiro, hand drum. I teach in an 100% poverty inner city school. Right now I'm teaching Gameplan 2 with my 3rd graders. You are not allowed to copy the visuals but you can make them without a copy machine. I recommend the visuals and charts unless you like to make your own and have the time to make them. The teacher's edition has everything you need but the visuals are fantastic. Ali WoodĠ1/07 “GAMEPLAN” I started last year with the First Grade series and my kids LOVED it! There is a variety of activities that last between 2 - 10 minutes. If you haven't updated your Musicplay 4 and 5 yet, check it out. Strive for the Highest would be a great song for our DARE grad. I will be using Hevenu Shalom, Linstead Market, Snowflakes, Follow the Drinkin' Gourd, Scoo Be Doo Song, and Funga Alafia this term. There are some fun songs for kids (School Day Blues) and lots of easy part songs that I know my students will be able to be successful with. It's really hard to find games for this age level, and I like the selections. The recordings - both the vocals and the orchestrations - are excellent, and the songs and especially the new games are ones that my 4th and 5th grade students will like.
